I'm already dealing with sciatica, and this series of postures really targeted my more painful and tight areas. I'm hoping that by repeating this often, if not daily, I can start to finally loosen my hamstrings and be rid of the pain in my lower back.

I'm also a S.I. joint, sciatic nerve, and piriformis syndrome sufferer. I thought that Sarah's class was appropriate for these symptoms and I really enjoyed the sequence she prepared. This is not really a vinyasa style class, but it will open up your hamstrings and hips in a measured and gentle fashion. Well done, Sarah - I'll be coming back! (I also had the issue with the feed stopping multiple times throughout)

I often get a pinching at the top of my back thigh (right in the buttock) from running. Only on one side, so I presume it's the sciatic nerve. This class seems to do the trick to relieve it! Especially the seated-wide leg-side-to-side movement which compresses the pinched bit. Thanks, Sarah, for teaching me how to stretch this out.

I appreciate Sarah's knowledge so much - the way in which she describes the physical benefits of the poses is so helpful & grounding. This was a great class to really stretch out the backs of the legs. I think it would probably be wonderful after a long trip.

After four days of sciatic pain and ten days of no yoga practice, I was determined to proceed cautiously with my reentry into yoga. I chose this class because I assumed that what was good for prevention might also relieve the lingering tension and pain I felt after "resting" my back and leg. This class was such a relief, and I was able to follow every movement, if not with the advanced instruction, through the modified movements. This felt like a true multi-level class, because I was able to vary movements according to how comfortable I felt. I also enjoyed using the strap, because I haven't yet gotten the chance to apply it. I understand the utility now. Thank you Sarah, for your patience in this class. It was exactly what I needed in order to return to practice.

I intend to incorporate these "top 3" sciatic nerve poses into my daily practice. I spend far too many hours sitting at work and these poses really felt good. I still have a lot of tension and resistance, but this practice can really help open the hips and hamstrings. Thanks, Sarah.

I have struggled chronically with piriformis syndrome and consequent right-sided sciatica after running a few half-marathons four years ago. My osteopathic doctor helped me so much as did a couple sessions of Feldenkrais and an integrative-type physical therapist. However, I do still have almost constant (albeit much less intense) sciatic pain and the therapies I have used are too expensive for me to use regularly. This class is just what I have desired: an inexpensive and effective way for me to treat myself. Thank you (especially for the detailed instruction in modifying the poses)!

Alot of practices work certian muscle groups or make you work cardiovascularly. Alot challenge your mental toughness and balance. Thats all great and I'm addicted to those feelings but sometimes its good just to complete more of a theraputic class and feel like you enabled yourself to hit it hard again the next day. Really enjoy this class. I go back to it regularly and it does relieve the overall tensions I have in the lower back, and more specifically a pain that feels like sciatica on the left side. The effects are long lasting, which is not the case of all the "back relief" classes.
