This was a fantastic class with lots of work on the neck, bridge poses, nice deep breath work. Ideal for a day where you are feeling very fatigued and can't do a vinyassa or ashtanga class! thank you Sarah.

good class, not much movement so it's not great if you need a "workout". definitely some good poses & it was difficult for me because i have some throat chakra problems & not much neck strength. it was good to focus on. thanks sarah! maybe next time some more info on the throat chakra aspect as well.

I disagree with a message below. First 28 minutes - no danger to the neck. Instructions are clear. The importance of keeping the neck straight is underscored over and over. Around 28th minute many variations of bridge. Nothing special. A shoulder stand at the end - the proper instructions are given to keep the neck safe. Thx Sarah

I am a semi experienced yogi, I've attended classes for about 2 years and take safety seriously (but not obsessively). I thought the class was unsafe for the neck (see the recent New York Times article detailing the dangers of yoga, many involving the neck). I felt many of the poses were inappropriate and overextended the neck, all while neglecting major muscle groups, such as the legs, back, and arms. I stopped the routine about 28 minutes into it and finished my practice today with a series of lunges, warrior 2 and warrior 3 poses and felt I had a much more rewarding and safe practice.

Although Sarah always says it's impossible to be negative when the thyroid is working, I did not find that to be true. I actually was frustrated through much of the sequence. Many of the poses were quite advanced and I felt like the instructor did not give enough information about moving into the poses safely and did not always explain thoroughly enough what position the neck should be in. I did enjoy the simpler kriyas at the beginning.

Many of the poses seemed to require more flexibility than I currently have, so I just wasn't able to get all the benefits of the class. Really loved this class. After yesterday's yoga for surfers and snowboarders, I thought this balanced it out perfectly. Like many people I have tightness in my neck and shoulders and this really has left me feeling more space and length in my cervical spine. I always enjoy Sarah's classes.
