I like going back to the beginner classes for the slower pace. It allows me to reflect on my poses and work on my breath. If you are a first timer the upward dog might be too much of a pose so I would put this at a more Novice level of a class.

I loved this class - wonderful clear explanations and slow steady movements. However, as the other reviewers have said I think it's ambitious for a first timer - not only because some of the postures are quite challenging, but also the still, quietness required is very difficult for a first timer.

I am a beginner for sure. this is the first class I have complete, however I have done partial classes before. I am grateful for this class, the teachers and this site. This was a very relaxing sequence. Adi eases into it ever so slowly, 1/2 sun salutes, modified sun salutes, and I think just one sun salute c pausing at each posture. Awesome toe stretch and knee stretch(hero). Short but effective ab sequence. Loved it today!

I'm realizing that Yoga Today has a very optomistic view of what a "First Timer" may be experiencing. While lots of options are given if you are not flexible enough to do a pose, no options are given if you're not strong enough to do a pose.

This is great when you don't feel like you can go at 100%. The slow pace is both strengthening and soothing. I would have liked a couple more twists though, triangle or something similar would be a nice addition to round out the practice.

I liked the upper body strengthening component of this class.
