For the last few weeks I have been experiencing hip pain and lower back pain and couldn't do anything to stretch it out. I love running and have recently increased my intensity which i'm sure is the cause of my pain.
I decided to give yoga a go and found your website, all I can say is WOW.

I did the free class first and noticed a significant reduction in hip pain and then went on to sign up for a membership. I have now practiced 3 days in a row and no longer have any hip pain and I have reduced back pain. I am hooked! I can't wait to practice now and look forward to how I feel after I am finished.

Thanks so much for making it so easy and obtainable.

Reinforcements

I am truly grateful, appreciative, and thankful for what Sarah, Neesha, and Adi selflessly offer.

There is so much I feel that I know sometimes and have been well surrounded by an abundance of information that SHOULD make me among the "creme de la creme", but then there is life, full of ALL the realities, that truly opens ones eyes.

A healthy self image is so hard to attain when you have to not only strive to be healed from abuses, not savvy (if I may) enough to attain the types of friendship(s) you would like or need (hence the further affects of abuse), but to also be so out of shape; and that covers so much!

When I log into YogaToday.com, I am embraced by techniques and words of encouragement that sparks all the goodness that I already KNOW.

With Sarah's breathing practices I am once again calmed, Neesha's stability and mental practices I am receiving mantras that reflect self motivating speech that I utter daily, and Adi's display of strength techniques creates a challenge that I can attempt and some times accomplish that reminds me that I can also do the same in other aspects of my life, and get similar results.

Wow, no matter what I am feeling, if and once I push myself to log on and see what practice is available (mainly the free weekly lessons due to finances), I receive the REINFORCEMENTS that reflects what I need in my life.

The sunflower is my favorite flower, and when I do yoga practice, I feel so bright and strong. I like to say that: I am determined to be like rays of a sunflower; I WILL BE!!!

Hats off to you all, and may you be strengthened and preserved:)!

I thank you ALL from the debt of my soul!

Conquer and Shine!

In 2009, I woke from sleep and suddenly had lost all feeling from my hands up to the elbow and from my toes up to my knees. I could not walk. I was diagnosed with a severe vitamin B12 deficiency. The deficiency caused massive nerve damage. I saw countless doctors and sought out help from hospitals all over the world for help with no success. Both mind and body lost functionality and no help from any physical therapist was of any use.

So after waiting for months for help from doctors (with no ability to take care of myself at all) I opened up a book that I refer to as the bible, B.K.S. Iyengar’s “Light On Yoga,” and reread the opening to the book. Iyengar wrote of his childhood filled with major health problems that labeled him as severely disabled. Iyengar took ownership of his own life and hit the yoga mat in India and went from disabled to the most famous yogi still to this day.

After reading, I hit the mat. I conquered the initial frustration of going from very experienced yogi with the ability to do guru level Asanas to a person with no control or use of the body with enormous success. I kept hitting the mat every day and in 4 months I could walk normally and do many Asanas.

Today I practice my own combo style of yoga that enforces cardiovascular health and muscle strength and grace. My B12 deficiency is part of my life every day with daily injections, pains, and nerve loss. Every day I hit the mat (with complete loss of feeling in the limbs) and then walk with beautiful prana radiating from my body and no one would ever know.

finding peace from chronic anxiety on the mat

When I started my yoga practice, I only did it for the physical benefits... I wanted to get leaner and fitter and to be honest I hate the gym. I must admit I'm a mat drop out, because I started my daily practice and gave up on it more than once.

This time around, I came back to my mat with a different goal... I needed to find peace after a few panic attacks that resulted in a chronic anxiety diagnosis.

Yoga is far from a popular practice in this half island where I live, it's more of a complement in a few gyms and there are only 2 real studios where you can actually go and take classes... Plus it's expensive.
So once again I had no option, had to start doing it at home, and the results where amazing. I do 2, 20 mins sessions a day, and not only I feel fitter, I feel so much in tune with myself, I spend most of my day in constant and moving meditation.

I'm better at my work, and even though anxiety always kicks in when you least expected, I've learned to breathe it out and fight my usual impulses... I know I still have a lot to learn, but the process so far has changed and possibly saved my life.

Look in to look out!

Yoga is the razor blade that shaves off any negative emotions, the softener that grounds me, the rock from which I stabilize.

Thanks to all that help me do more and learn more yoga!
